You don't have to delete your whole ColorShare account to delete specific data. This page covers both ways to do that: instantly, yourself, for the content types that support it, or by request for anything else.
Delete it yourself, instantly
These are removed immediately and permanently the moment you delete them — there's no waiting period and no way to undo it:
A post
- Open the post.
- Tap the ⋮ (more options) icon on it.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
A comment
- Open the post the comment is on.
- Tap the ⋮ icon on your comment.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
A gallery entry
- Open your profile and go to your Personal Portfolio Gallery.
- Open the entry.
- Tap the ⋮ icon and choose Delete.
A saved swatch
- Open the Swatch Library.
- Find the swatch you saved.
- Tap its saved (♥) icon again to remove it.
Request deletion of anything else
For data that doesn't have a delete button — for example your profile bio, social links, or a direct message — email legal@colorshare.app. To avoid back-and-forth, include:
- The username or email address on your ColorShare account
- Exactly what you want deleted (be specific — "my bio," "the message I sent to @username on March 3," etc.)
We respond to these requests within 30 days.
What actually happens to the data
- Posts, comments, gallery entries, saved swatches: hard-deleted immediately when you delete them yourself — the record and any associated image are both removed, with no retention window.
- Direct messages: deleting a message removes it from display in the conversation, but the underlying message record is kept (marked deleted, not erased) so the rest of the conversation thread stays intact for the other participant. If you need a message's content actually erased rather than just hidden, email legal@colorshare.app.
- Everything requested by email: handled manually, within the 30-day turnaround above.
